Recently, Singapore published four (4) classifications of countries based on Covid-19 risk. The classification defines the eligibility of visitors to enter Singapore and their respective requirements to fulfill, based on the visitors’ 21-day travel history before their entry to Singapore.
Here is the summary of the current countries and regions classification :
Category I comprises places with the lowest risk of Covid-19 infections. Travelers can enter Singapore without having to serve a stay-home notice (SHN).
They will be subjected to an on-arrival PCR test and can continue their journey if they test negative.
Countries that fall into this category are Hongkong, Macau, China, New Zealand, and Taiwan.
Category II comprises places with similar Covid-19 risk profiles as Singapore. Travelers will be required to undergo a seven-day SHN at their accommodation of choice. Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders may serve their seven-day SHN at their residence if conditions are suitable.
Countries that fall into this category are Australia, Brunei, Canada, and Germany.
Category III comprises a place to be a higher risk of Covid-19 infections. Unvaccinated travelers will have to undergo a 14-day SHN at dedicated facilities. Vaccinated travelers may choose to go through 14-day SHN at suitable accommodation besides dedicated facilities, if they have been in the Category II countries in the last consecutive 21 days before arrival, and subject to the accommodation’s suitable conditions.
Countries that fall into this category are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Norway, South Korea and Switzerland.
Category IV comprises all other countries or regions not mentioned in the above categories*. Travelers will be required to undergo a 14-day SHN and comply with a testing regime at dedicated facilities. (*Except Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan & Sri Lanka; travelers from these countries are currently not allowed entry, except for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents who are allowed entry.)
