GACA announces the readiness of its international airport for travel

The General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia, in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), confirmed the operational readiness of Saudi airports for the first international flights, where permission travel has been given for exceptional groups. The readiness is confirmed in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the relevant government agencies within the airport facilities.The General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia, in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), confirmed the operational readiness of Saudi airports for the first international flights, where permission travel has been given for exceptional groups. The readiness is confirmed in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the relevant government agencies within the airport facilities.

The conditions are as below :

  1. Airlines are permitted to carry GCC citizens passengers to/from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
  2. Airlines are permitted to carry non-Saudi passengers holding a valid visa (Exit/Entry, Residence (Iqamah), and visit) to / from the Kingdom.
  3. Passengers are not allowed to board unless they provide a negative result (PCR) test from a verified laboratory aboard and it must be done not later than 48 hours before arriving to the Kingdom.
  4. The above mentioned passengers entering and exiting the Kingdom, shall be in accordance with the Covid-19 health preventions controls and measures issued by the Ministry of Health.

It is worth noting that GACA will update the approved health protocols for travel at this stage in the traveler's guide. Meanwhile, the date set for lifting the suspension completely for international flights will be announced 30 days before January 1, 2021. The Ministry of Health, if required at that time, may raise a request to set preventive health requirements for travelers and carriers during travel.
